A DAISY CHAIN FOR SATAN (2024) - BEHIND THE SCENES

Ewan Creed and I came up with this video together - he wanted to shoot a party in his backyard using the motorized rig I built years before, with the mix of dancers and performers he knew from the neighborhood.

For years I’d dreamed of a video where a band performed on a zoetrope platform, and the video would alternate between the animated world of the platform, and the live action of the performance or choreography on top.

The collaboration was a mix of his Dionesian instincts with my Apollonian ones.

Midway through the editing process the original band decided that the video wasn’t the right direction for their promotion, and decided to scrap it.

I was prepared to give up but Ewan took it upon himself to reedit the video to a few different songs, Daisy Chain being the one that stuck. He used the curveball to improve the video and we continued to help the footage fit the new song by scratching, collaging, and shooting more material for a new ending.
